Watering Cove Studios
Watering Cove Studios is a family collaboration of US Bells, Fisher Woodworking and Liza Fisher Pottery in the village of Prospect Harbor. The bell foundry was established by Richard and Cindy Fisher in 1970 with an aim to produce original designs of bronze wind and door bells using the traditional process of sand casting. Son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Liza, now manage the bell business in addition to producing their own work of fine furniture and wood-fired pottery.
Liza has built a large wood kiln which comes alive with sparks, heat and the sweet smell of wood smoke as she fires her gracefully formed pottery for many hours throughout the night. When the glazes mature, subtle and warm colors develop from the prolonged intense heat.
Tim has set up a full woodworking shop on site, working primarily with domestic hardwoods to build custom furniture and cabinetry. His focus is to create solid and elegant designs with gentle details to meet the needs of a diverse range of clients.
Richard continues to work on new designs and has created additional work space for his bell sculptures. These larger wind bells project a deep mellow resonance in the changing winds.
With a mutual sense of craftsmanship, we support each other’s endeavors and share ideas that we hope reflect our commitment to design, function, and durability.
